First Cedar Valley
Silent Auction

Each year starting with our first Cedar Valley Homecoming a large number of folks have gathered at the Dining Hall to swap old stories and momentoes of our days at Cedar Valley and Eastern Arkansas Area Council. And it seems, at some point, the conversations turn to "Why don't we have an auction?" So we are going to finally do it! Dust off the old dups and stuff cluttering the closet, sort it out and bring it on to Homecoming!

We honestly have no idea what to expect so the sky is the limit. Here's the ground rules. This will be a SILENT AUCTION. Each seller will put their items out for display on at table with a "bid sheet". Bidders walk around and bid by writing down a bid. If someone tops your bid, you can go back and write down a new bid amount. At an appointed time, all bidding stops. We will have a staff team running the auction who will assign bid sheets, bidder numbers, total bids and handle cash at the end.

Each seller will pay $5.00 (total) to put items in the auction. At the end all money from the bids go to the owner of the items sold. Bidders only pay for the items that they win. So where does the $5.00 go? We will hopefully make enough to fund a campership for a Boy Scout in our part of Quapaw Area Council to go to Summer Camp!

The only limitation we will have is that all items in the auction must be related to Boy Scouting in Eastern Arkansas Area Council or Quapaw Area Council. That could be camp patches, OA patches, mugs, neckerchiefs; just so long as it's Scout related. We tentatively plan to setup and start the auction right after lunch on Saturday and conclude it in about 2 hours. That will give everyone a chance to participate and still be a brief time. So if this sounds like something you would enjoy, see the details in the link below and let Stephen White know.
