2006 Homecoming Another Success!

Well, folks...if you missed it, you'll have to wait for the 5th Anniversary version of Cedar Valley Homecoming. Close to 130 folks showed up this year to partake of fun, food and just general goofin' off at the place we all love to be. Perhaps all who attended would like to send us a line or two telling what they did at Homecoming and help us encourage others to come home, too. We'll post the stories (please keep them short) as we get them. Meanwhile, you can look at the photos take in 2004, 2005 or 2006. Thanks to Jason Nichols and Randy Jenkins for the pics.

SPECIAL CSP SOLD AT HOMECOMING !!!

For all you patch hounds, a very special CSP was offered for sale at Homecoming this year.  Through the efforts of a Senior Administrative Advisor to the  Iraqi Ministry of the Interior, we are able to offer the patch at right. All 50 copies they sent to us sold in a flash.

Proceeds go to the World Brotherhood of Scouting fund at National BSA with 100% going to reintroduce Scouting in Iraq.  US, British and Egyptian Scouting organizations are working on the project.  Until Iraq can be recognized as a full member of the World Organization Scouting Movement (WOSM) Egypt is overseeing how the funds are spent.

If you missed out on the green bordered beauty at Homecoming, don't fret. Another version is now available! Contact Stephen White if you are interested. Cost will be $10 each plus shipping/handling. As before there are a VERY limited number available.

The top five priorities for the team working in Bagdad are:

  1. Building / Refurbishing Scout Camps in Iraq
  2. Re-entry into WOSM
  3. Scout and point of contact for Scouting Handbooks and uniforms
  4. Fund raising efforts in Iraq / US
  5. Handover of $20,000 worth of camping equipment
