| Description: In 1973, two National Jamborees were held and
EAAC sent large groups to both. It was also a NOAC year. Many lodge members
attended these events and took along large numbers of this Ordeal flap to trade
(and probably a few Brotherhood and Vigil flaps!) At the same time, the 'pine
tree' look of the five small trees was corrected to give them more of a 'cedar
tree' look as intended. It must have been very popular because even today,
it is a very common flap found in many collections outside of our lodge.
There were several reorders of this series of patches,
so variants are likely to exist. This is
considered by many members to be our prettiest flap design, certainly of the
period. The flap is fairly plentiful in mint condition and quite popular. |
