F2a Flap

Blue Book: F2b

Description: The F2b probably resulted from an inventory reorder or a simple loom run difference. Of the three variants identified by the authors of the Blue Book, we have seen VERY few examples of this issue. It may exist in a quantity under a full loom run, perhaps indicating that it resulted from a thread change during a loom run rather than a reorder. The issue is also very hard to identify even when placed next to the other variants. There is also no clear evidence to indicate in which order the variants appeared. Like the F2a, this issue clarified the arrow fletchings and cloud shape.

Period of Issue:   Apx 1962 to 1965
Restrictions:       None
Quantity Issued: Upto 800 (For All Variants)
Characteristics:   Arrow to wearers left; Gray cloud; Black tag threads from the name to border; Arrow fletchings more realistic than F1. This variant is very hard to distinquish from the F2a version; 50x124mm.
